According to recent research done by the American Heart Association, it is estimated that 60 percent of senior females will have some form of heart disease by the year 2050.
This is a particularly disturbing statistic when given the fact that heart disease is the number one killer in the United States.
The study reveals that about one in three women will pass away as a result of cardiovascular disease. Additionally, estimates say that about 62 million women in the U.S. currently suffer from some sort of cardiovascular disease. If these trends continue, the numbers are only going to grow. Not only does this point to a tragic loss of human life, it places an enormous and growing burden on the healthcare system, limiting resources for those in need.

In many cases, cardiovascular disease is preventable and treatable. There are a lot of things that can be done to improve at risk individuals’ prognoses when it comes to this particular malady. For example, diet, exercise, smoking cessation, and medications can do a lot toward helping minimize risk, alleviate symptoms, and reduce the likelihood of death.
This research was published as a report titled, “Forecasting the Burden of Cardiovascular Disease and Stroke in the United States Through 2050 in Women: A Scientific Statement from the American Heart Association.” It builds upon a variety of previous projects and studies. The hope is that this report can not just spread awareness about the risk that women will be facing as they continue to age, but also improve the quality of treatment that they receive. Improving the quality of life that people experience as they get older is one of the core concepts of preventative care.
It’s also one of the key goals of in-home care. Here at Paradise In-Home Care, our goal is to make the senior years better for the people we serve. Not just the individual receiving care, but their entire families, too. Getting connected to the right senior care service for your family will make this possible.
In-home care is often the optimal service because it is fluid. The one to one care that an in-home caregiver provides is naturally adaptive and responsive to the unique needs of the individual. There are a lot of different types of care out there, but in-home care is the only type that comes to your family and provides this care right where you already are. The goal is to keep everyday life and routines as normal and unimpeded as possible.
We know that you likely have questions. Senior care is often uncharted territory. We’d like to help you navigate it. If you have questions, we’re here for you. Our caregivers offer free consultation sessions designed to answer those questions, provide advice tailored to your unique family circumstances and goals, and help get you pointed in the right direction. If in-home care isn’t the right choice for you, we’ll let you know. Our goal with this is to help, not offer a high pressure sales pitch.
