The demographics of those entering senior care and long term care facilities over the next two decades or so is going to shift, according to many population and health experts. The portion of the population born after World War Two ended–often referred to as the “Baby Boomer” generation–is unique in many ways when compared to the seniors that came before them.
Because the demographics of the elderly population are changing, it’s safe to say that senior care must also change in order to continue helping people. COVID-19 and the ensuing pandemic has already made this very clear. But what this looks like isn’t yet clear. More than likely, a multitude of new ways of approaching senior care will evolve in the coming years. It has to change, or many seniors will not be able to get the help, love, and care that they need to thrive as they age.
Some types of care are more flexible than other types of care. Even when it comes to nursing homes and assisted living facilities, some organizations are better equipped to help unique populations than others. Some are able to provide a higher level of care and attend to the needs of those that they serve in a better manner than others, too. Not all care services are created equal and not all of them have the same high level of care, love, and service that they are able to pass on to others.
This is one of the reasons why we exist as a care service. At Paradise In-Home Care, we hope to provide a unique type of care within our community. We offer in-home care services, which is naturally able to adapt and be customized to more fully meet the needs of the people that we work with. Because the caregiver to person in need ratio is one to one, we are better able to meet needs, even when they change and even when they are a little bit more complex than normal.
That’s only part of the picture. Having the right staff and environment for those staff is also a big part of the success of any care service. This is why we do such a thorough job of selecting our caregivers. All staff go through a rigorous background check before hire, then through an even more rigorous training process before they go out into the field. We want to ensure that only the best, most highly trained, loving, and knowledgeable caregivers make their way out into your home, caring for the people that you love. We want to make sure that only the right employees are on board, and that they are here for the right reasons. We insure and bond our employees as well, just to ensure an extra level of safety for you and the people that you care about.
Have questions about the changing demographics of our population and how senior care will be impacted as a result? Would you like to know what that means for your older family members? Give us a call, we’d love to talk more.
