All over the country, government agencies and nonprofits are launching free programs to help improve the quality of care that seniors have access to.
In the end, the people that benefit are the ones that need these services the most. The people that see the biggest benefits are the ones that need care but aren’t sure where to start.
We’re also seeing this happen in the private sector. This might seem odd at first since the for-profit side of things tends to frown at giving away things for free, but what many are finding is that this is not true at all. The concept of a “loss leader” isn’t new. It’s the idea that selling something for less than its cost acts as a way to grow a consistent and loyal customer base. People get to try out the product for free or at a big discount to see if it’s right for them. At least, that’s how a lot of physical products are approached.
It’s different in the world of human services, though. It’s not just about selling a product. It’s about helping someone to live a better, safer life.
It’s also a really good way to give back to your community. For-profit businesses of any sort wouldn’t exist if there wasn’t a good relationship between the company and the consumer. A free service is a way to say thank you to all of those people that have supported a company over the years.
Free trainings often include concepts like improving communication between providers, insurance education, and basic skills that can help family caregivers to improve their ability to help.
Businesses need to earn revenue in order to survive. Senior care businesses focus on the needs of the elderly and their family members, and without a stream of money coming in, they can’t continue to do this. And without income, care services can’t pay staff, buy supplies, keep the lights on in their offices and facilities, and so on. Although the need to turn a profit in this kind of business might not be the highest priority–that is ultimately assisting those that need it–generating revenue is an essential step if these kinds of businesses are going to continue providing the high quality care that seniors deserve.
We are proud to be able to offer a free consultation service to the people that we serve. For many, getting started is the hardest and most daunting part of the senior care process. Care can be overwhelmingly big. A free consultation session makes it approachable and helps get people steered toward the resources that will benefit them the most directly.
Please don’t hesitate to get in touch. Our caregivers are happy to help you get pointed in the right direction. There’s no obligation on your part to commit to anything–that would completely defeat the point of a free consultation, after all. We would be honored if you choose our care service, but this isn’t the expectation. The goal is to get you started and give you the confidence and empowerment to make the best decisions possible for your family. Call us to get started.
