Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is the leading cause of death in the United States. But even those that suffer from the same illness will experience different symptoms. Younger and older patients tend to see different symptoms even when they are experiencing the same illness.
It was also highlighted in this study was that women and men may experience different symptoms with the same cardiovascular disease.
But when it comes to common symptoms, there was one thing that stood out. It was noted during this study that depression was a universal symptom amongst all types of cardiovascular disease. This doesn’t mean that those with CVD are definitely going to have depression. However, the team speculated that those who suffer from depression may likely let preliminary symptoms and preventative practices go undone because of the complications that come along with depression.
This research was conducted by the American Heart Association. They published their findings in the journal, Circulation. Hopefully, this is research that will act as a stepping stone for future projects so that those who suffer from CVD or are at risk of it can have better, healthier lives.
It’s important that you work closely alongside a team of medical professionals if you are concerned about cardiovascular disease. While there are things that you can do on your own to reduce the risk or less severity here, working with a doctor is the best way to help ensure that you and your loved ones stay as healthy as possible. The heart is one of the biggest issues that our society faces when it comes to senior health, and working with a doctor that knows your medical history is important. Targeted advice specific to your needs can be given this way, leading to optimal health outcomes designed uniquely for you.
This is one of the perks of in-home care in general. Care is given in a one on one basis, which is customized to the needs of the person receiving care by default. Senior care can be given in a variety of settings in a variety of ways, but in-home care ensures that it is done in a way that uniquely meets needs. This becomes even more helpful when the caregiver has received training that matches up with someone’s medical needs, eliminating a lot of issues that can come along with things like cardiovascular disease.
Of course, this doesn’t mean that in-home care is perfect for everyone. This is often the case with people that have advanced illnesses. In-home care is not medical care, it’s help around the house with the activities of daily living.
