A research team has recently found a new way of identifying the presence of cardiovascular disease early on in its presence. They believe that through early identification, lives can be saved through timely, more effective treatment. And past research indicates that this approach might just be exactly what’s needed.
Typically, cardiovascular disease is examined through things like cholesterol levels. However, recent research points to the idea that this isn’t the only thing that can be measured. This newest study looked at the comparison of apoB to apoA-1 levels and found that this can often point to cardiovascular disease a little bit sooner than measuring cholesterol can. The higher the ratio of apoB to apoA-1, the greater the likelihood is that the individual will go on to develop heart issues.
Hopefully, this is information that can be used very quickly have a positive impact on our society.
Cardiovascular disease is the biggest cause of death in the United States. However, it’s also one of the most easily preventable causes of death in a lot of cases. Lifestyle changes, eating healthier, taking the correct medications, and working with a doctor can all help to reduce the impact that cardiovascular disease has on someone. Addressing issues sooner rather than later can have a big positive impact on someone’s life.
This research comes out of the Karolinska Institutet, based out of Sweden. They published their findings in the medical journal, PLOS Medicine.
Prevention is always the best way to help address health issues. It is far better to avoid complications from illness and injury before they happen. This is why identifying risk of cardiovascular disease early on is so important. It’s always easier to treat health problems when they are caught early. It’s even easier if those health problems never manifest themselves in the first place because of preventative measures.
This is one of the reasons why finding a high quality care service well before it’s needed is so helpful. If a trained professional is assisting a loved one, they are going to be able to help with things like good hygiene, food preparation, and transportation to and from medical appointments. These things alone might not seem like a lot, but when they are done regularly before there is a major need, it can go a long way toward preventing that major need from ever occurring. This goes for cardiovascular disease and many other health issues. For chronic illnesses, it can also help prevent symptoms from becoming severe quickly.
